If you have a Twitter feed on your website, you may have noticed that your posts are not showing anymore. Instead, there’s a message saying, “Nothing to see here – yet. When they Tweet, their Tweets will show up here.“, followed by a link to Twitter.
It’s not just you. The feeds are not working for anyone anymore. We’ve had few clients reach out to us about this issue.
Unfortunately, Twitter has deprecated their legacy API access tiers. Maybe Twitter will reverse it’s position. Who knows? In the meantime, you may as well turn off the widget as it’s of little use to your visitors.
There was a short time recently where you were not able to see individual tweets unless you were logged into your Twitter account. That policy was short-lived and been changed back, but still…
For voters without a Twitter account (and there are a lot of them), a good part of your social media was been gated off. If you’re a local candidate, you might want to think twice before investing too heavily in the platform.
